eCommerce-Ready & Sustainable Packaging

E-commerce shows constant dynamic growth. In the meantime, especially in the USA, brand owners are increasingly reacting to the booming business with specially developed packaging.

“E-commerce-ready” packaging is characterized by the fact that it can handle the distinct challenges of transport and logistics. This is crucial – both for the logistics chain and especially for consumers.

After all, what use does a great product have if it arrives damaged or even contaminates other products in the shipping carton? In the end terribly bad ratings remain, as the example of wood preservation glaze on Amazon shows.

E-commerce packaging can also bring even more added value for consumers. For instance, the example of the P&G brand, Tide, in the USA shows an increasing diversity of variants. This offers additional options for customers. One can now select one’s preferred type of packaging from a sustainability perspective.

This is a great example of how to meet the changing requirements of the logistics chain and at the same time create extra value for one’s customers.

Packaging optimized for e-commerce will become the lasting norm. Where there are currently advantages for pioneers, there will be more disadvantages for those who have not yet responded to the new reality.
